According to the March 25, 1937 obituary for George M. Murray, he was born three miles from Prescott, Ont. near the Blue Church, a son of the late Frank and Sarah Scott Murray. According to other information I have, Frank b. 1841 in Scotland, immigrated to Montreal with his parents when he was about 8 yrs. Sarah was born in Prescott. Frank, Sarah, George, and several other children immigrated to St. Lawrence County, NY in 1890. If anyone has information on this family, I would appreciate hearing from you. Also, does anyone know where I would write for information on the marriage of Frank and Sarah, and birth records for their children (between 1868 and 1878)?

COURTNEY/COURTENAY, CORBETT, MARTIN, and RUTHERFORD - I am researching these families, which are intertwined in the Kemptville and South Gower area,as well as Oxford -on -Rideau. The MARTIN family came from Ireland around 1820, and the COURTENAYS emigrated from Co. Antrim in 1849. Richard CORBETT came from Belfast , and married Martha MARTIN. Eliza COURTENAY married Martha's brother, William. Her sister, Isabella, married John RUTHERFORD. The son of Richard and Martha CORBETT also married a COURTENAY -Agnes. Their son was my grandfather! Anyone connected to any of these names is welcome to contact me - I'd love to track down another line!

My gr gr gr grandparents were Nathaniel KETCHUM and Lucretia Fordham/Farnham KETCHUM. They are found in the Leeds Co. 1851 census. Pervious information concerning a son, Jesse KETCHUM shows him as being born in Lisbon, Ontario--approx. 350 miles west of Leeds. I recently uncovered a birth certificate of his youngest daughter stating that he was born in Winnipeg, Canada. My question is: Is or was there a town in Ontario, Leeds, or Grenville Co. called Winnipeg? This could solve the problem we've had researching his birth. Thank you.

I am tracing my g-grandfather Edwin Nelson and my g-grandmother Sadie Anne (nee Barber), who lived in Edwardsburgh Twp. between 1898 and 1901, likely in Cardinal. I would like to hear from anyone who is tracing either of these lines, but especially Sadie's as she died very young and little is known of her family. Also, if anyone knows of where the Methodist Church records from this period are now held, I would be eternally grateful. I am so far unable to confirm the existence of a United Church there now, but I know there once was a Methodist church on Queens or Dundas Streets. Thanks.

I am looking for leads on any available information about Ann Real, who is listed in the 1871 Census of Ontario as residing in the Leeds & Grenville North (070) district; subdistrict Wolford (C); division 2. At the time of the census, she was 79 years old. According to the census, she was born in Ireland. I am particularly interested in determining when she arrived in Ontario (I believe it may have been between 1821 and 1828) where she came from in Ireland, and whether or not she died in Leeds & Grenville. The same census also list two men in Leeds & Grenville North with the REAL surname, one living at the same coordinates as Anne (first name Patric, age 43, occupation lock labourer) and the other in the subdistrict Merrickville (D) (first name Daniel, age 32, occupation tailor and clothier). The same census list only one other person with the REAL surname in Ontario who is of Irish descent, and I am wondering if he might also be related to Ann (his given name is John, age 50, born in Ireland, as of 1871 l ives in the district of Cardwell (040), subdistrict Albion (B). I am investigating this information using local resources in Toronto. Any further help would be greatly appreciated. Replies by email are welcome. As suggested on the Web site, my snail mail address is: 534 Glebeholme Blvd., Toronto, Ont. M4C 1V4 Thanks.
