Looking for BLAIR from Wolfe Is. Apparently James BLAIR was born in 1834 in Quebec but I cannot find any searchable databases on the net for Quebec records. James BLAIR's wife was Anna S. GRIMSHAW, possibly the daughter of William GRIMSHAW, also living on Wolfe Is. born in Quebec in about 1806 and died sometime after the 1891 census. William GRIMSHAW's parents were born in U.S. and may have been UEL's, but, without further information about James BLAIR and where he came from I am unable to trace the rest of the family. James BLAIR's parents were probably born in Ireland. James BLAIR is buried in Hornes Cemetery on Wolfe Is (1877) as is his wife Anna GRIMSHAW. James was my great, great grandfather. One of Anna's brothers (possibly a brother) Henry GRIMSHAW, also from Wolfe Is., owned the Revere Hotel in Kingston. William BLAIR, James son, my great grandfather, used to go across the ice to Kingston in the winter to play cards in the hotel. He was some card player, apparently! postal address for anyone with information: 80 Roser Cres., Bowmanville, Ontario, L1C 3N9

I am searching for records that confirm family oral history concerning my great-great grandparents, John CORNEAIL/CORNEIL and Catherine TERRELL/TURL Corneail. John was probably born in Frontenac County in the late 1830's-early 1840's and was raised by an uncle who owned a hotel in Kingston at that time . Catherine emigrated from Ireland to New Haven, CT in about 1852, and married John in Kingston about 1861-2. They were Roman Catholics. Their first daughter, Mary Ann, was born in Kingston in 1864. The family later emigrated to Lapeer County, MI where John and Catherine lived out their lives. I am interested in a birth record for John, marriage record for John and Catherine, and a birth record for Mary Ann. I welcome the assistance of a volunteer or professional researcher. Please notify of fees in advance. Or, I would be grateful for information as to whether records exist for the period in which I am interested, and where they might be located.

I've been researching my JAMIESON ancestors who emmigrated from Antrim Ire. to the Battersea area, Frontenac Co, circa 1846. I'm having difficulty finding where my gg & g grandfathers [both John] are buried, altho' I suspect that they both should be in Sandhill Cemetery. My problem is that nobody, including the Cemetery Office knows of any records back beyond a tombstone audit carried out in 1985. Can anyone steer me towards an older record? Ever hopeful, Al. I am seeking information about Cornelius SHAE b.abt.1831 in Ireland and e,mmigrated to Ont. where he m. Martha abt.1856. They were living near Sydenham in 1861 when my g grandfather, James Wesley was born. Other children were: Mary M.(Maude?), b.1857; Martha J.(Jenny?),b.1857; Thomas A.(Albert?)b.1863; John A. b.1867; Letitia b.1870 ; Horace and Belford b. after 1871?. James Wesley SHEA/SHAY, I don't know when they changed the spelling, but I believe this is his family because of so many of the names matched those found in my grandmother's bible. Anyway James W. married Julia Ann SMITH from Fronten- ac or Addington Co.abt. 1886. They had the following child- ren: Laura Myrtle b. 1887, m. Gerald LONG; Letitia Mae b.1889, m.Benson MILLS; Lloyd Norrington b.1891; and Jenny b.1901, m.Albert STAHLBERG. James Wesley's family came to the Montana in 1911. I would love to hear from any other decendants of Cornelius and Martha. Will share what I have about US line. Thank you. KEYS: looking for my ancestors Henry KEYS married to Mary MOFFAT with children (at least)Thomas (b 1822), Andrew (b 1824) and Catherine (b 1830?). This family emigrated from Ireland about 1842. I have located them in Campbell's Bay and Vinton Quebec after 1859 but have not been able to find their emigration. I have now discovered a family of KEYS living in Frontenac (Wolfe Island) in the 1851 census. I have Henry, Andrew, Martha, Patrick, Robert, Susan, Charles, Bridget, Thomas, William and perhpas Mary listed in this family. If this is the case, it may be that the family came to Canada and settled in Wolfe Island and some of them moved to Quebec before 1859. Can anyone help me with this ? Has anyone run across a KEYS family in their research ? or could you point me in the direction of some possible resources for the area. Thanks, in advance for any asistance. Karin
