Registration of Births, Marriages, and Deaths began in the Province of Ontario in mid 1869.

The Archives of Ontario in Toronto currently holds records of:

and they have prepared a 'Bulletin for Genealogists' on this subject.

Both the Kingston and the Ottawa Family History Centers holds almost
complete sets of these records.

If you are unable to visit either the Provincial Archives or one of these Centers,
perhaps one of our local 'For Hire' Researchers might be able to help out.

The Office of the Registrar General administers and effects the Registration Records,
and they hold all records created after the above noted dates in a 'confidential' fashion,
You'll have to contact them by telephone if you want to obtain
information about how to request, and who is eligible to request, Certificates.
