Online Map Images:

• A 'locator map' for Present Day Ontario Counties (1998).
• A 'next level down' locator map of South Eastern Ontario Counties (1998).
  • Note: Both of the above images are part of the main Ontario GenWeb Page series.

• On Jan 1 1998 the administrative units within Frontenac County were consolidated. Here's a map, Frontenac County Townships, Jan 1 1998, that was created by Nancy Matheson of Kingston (matheson@kingston.net) which shows the internal administrative boundaries within Frontenac County as they now exist, superimposed over the Township boundaries as they existed previously. Thanks Nancy!

• Census Enumeration Districts of Ontario, 1871: An absolutely stunning scanned image of an original map. Frontenac County was contained in three different Enumeration Districts - 64 (Addington), 65 (Frontenac), and 66 (City of Kingston).

• Hastings, Frontenac, and Lennox & Addington Counties in 1852: A scanned image of a contemporary published map.

• Canada West (Ontario) in 1845: A developed map showing Administrative boundaries.

Original Map Collections:

• Queen's University's Map and Air Photo Unit has an extensive collection of original maps - from early cartographic works of art to contemporary urban and transportation maps. Queen's University is located in Kingston.

  They provide links to the NAIS Mapping Series, and provide search engines for their Digital Map Inventory and their Air Photo Collection.

Published Atlases:

• Illustrated historical atlas of the Counties of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington, Ontario.
  Published in Toronto by the J.H. Meacham & Company, in 1878, "from actual surveys by and under the supervision of C.R.Allen, Civil Engineer, Toronto".
  The original Atlas comprises 109 pages, and contains illustrations, plates, biographical sketches, and maps.
  • Queen's University's Map Library and Special Collections each have original copies of this important Atlas, Call # G1148 .F7 M4 1878.
  • The Archives of Ontario has microfilm copies of the original: B 34, Reel 2.
  • The Kingston Public Library (near the Kingston Branch OGS Library Collection) and Queen's University's Map Library (Call # G1148 .F7 M4 1971) have copies of the 1971 Mika Silk Screening Reprint.
